“Instead of being dependent on the shoes supplied by the wholesalers, I decided to have more control over my own business to provide shoes with designs that my customers really like and want. As such, I started my own brand and created designs that are exclusive and unique to not only my customers but also to the brand.
I feel a great sense of satisfaction when my customers walk away contented with the shoes that are made ‘just for them’.”

Charles already had a clear vision for his business when he started out. He knew from the beginning that to succeed in the footwear business, he had to be able to determine correct pricing, quality and design to reach out to the right customers.

In order to be attractive to the customers, price and quality are the crucial factors. Minimising the dependency on third parties allowed Charles to offer exclusive products that are at the same time known for good value to customers.

Together with his brother, Keith, the Wong brothers started the eponymous label, Charles & Keith. Being artistic and creative, Keith took over the designing aspect as Chief Designer, while the business-minded Charles is responsible for the management of the entire company.

Their vision resulted in a business that has grown phenomenally. It also led them to work with DBS Bank as a partner.
